I'm using Chrome on Android. Why do I keep getting a search popup when I select some text?

You may have Tap to Search enabled on your device. Follow the instructions below to fix this.

To turn off Tap to Search:

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Chrome app.
  2. Tap the More icon in the upper right (three dots), then Settings.
  3. Tap Sync and Google services, then Tap to Search.
  4. Turn off Tap to Search.
