Description

A colorful little butterfly of open forests and adjacent disturbed areas, the Red-banded Hairstreak is common in more wooded yards and gardens where the adults visit a number of small flowers. The larvae are detritivores and feed on dead leaves below their larval host. Adults can be found throughout the year in most areas. | Photos by Jaret Daniels
