Description

Possibly the most common garden butterfly in eastern North America. The larvae utilize a number of wild and cultivated members of the carrot family including dill, fennel and parsley. The adults are dimorphic. Males have broad yellow bands though both wings. Females have reduced yellow and more blue iridescent on the hindwings above. | Photos by Jaret Daniels
