Description

A butterfly of moist woodlands, the Hackberry Emperor may be a frequent visitor to wooded parks or yards. The adults are wary but highly inquisitive, and regularly fly out at passing organisms. The adults do not visit flowers, feeding instead on animal dung, fermenting fruit and tree sap. | Photos by Jaret Daniels
