Ladybugs are beneficial insects because they eat other insects that feed on our landscape plants.
Both ladybug adults and larvae feed on soft-bodied problem insects like scales, aphids, whiteflies, and mites.
Adult ladybugs are the familiar, round, flying beetles that can come in many colors. But ladybug larvae look very different and are often mistaken for pests.
Killing ladybugs and other beneficial insects can result in increased problems with the pests they feed on, so be sure to properly identify insects before deciding what to do about them.
If you do need to control pests, use an integrated pest management strategy and let nature help you keep your landscape healthy!
