Transcript

Including an outdoor living space in your Florida-Friendly Landscape is a great way to appreciate your landscape in the company of friends and family.

An outdoor living space can take many different forms. It can be a few chairs around a fire pit, a poolside gazebo, or a turf area for kids to run and play.

Think about when you’ll be spending time in the space. Do you need lighting at night? Growing a vine on a trellis can provide afternoon shade. Plant a hedge if you need privacy.

Attract some wildlife to bring nature up close. It’s easy! Try adding a bird feeder and birdbath or plants that invite brightly colored butterflies to visit.

Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ in a Minute is a production of the University of Florida’s Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ Program, IFAS Extension, and WUFT-FM in cooperation with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.
