Episode #226 | Original Air Date: January 11, 2021
Looking for a durable, drought-tolerant plant that thrives in full sun? Junipers require little maintenance and have few pest problems. They can also be grown anywhere in Florida.
There are about forty species of juniper and many selections of each. Junipers range from dwarf types, which can be used as groundcovers, to large trees like the southern red cedar. Junipers also have excellent tolerance to salt spray and salty soils. This makes junipers a versatile choice in the landscape.
Another advantage to junipers is their excellent drought tolerance. But for all their flexibility, junipers definitely need at least half a day of full sun.
