    Transcript

Perennials can add excitement to any landscape with their color and versatility. They’re defined as plants that can live for two or more growing seasons.

In parts of Florida, your perennials may die back to the ground at various times of the year and re-grow. However, many people choose to treat their perennials as annuals.

Perennials have endless varieties of colors, sizes, growth habits, and blooming times and fit many light conditions and soil types. Grow them from seed or cuttings, or purchase small seedlings for transplant.

Select plants that are suited to the growing conditions where they will be placed and discover the wide world of perennials for an ever-rewarding landscape!

Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ in a Minute is a production of the University of Florida’s Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ Program, IFAS Extension, and WUFT-FM in cooperation with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.
