Weeping yaupon holly is a unique tree cultivar that offers a twist on one of Florida’s reliable native hollies.

The branches of weeping yaupon holly naturally cascade downward, giving this tree a distinct look. Even with this weeping habit, mature trees can grow up to thirty feet tall and about ten feet wide.

Female yaupon hollies often produce plenty of bright orange or red berries that attract wildlife and serve as an important food source during the fall and winter months.

These tough evergreen trees will grow in either sun or part shade and are drought tolerant once established.

Just be sure to plant yours in a spot where you can appreciate it.

Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ in a Minute is a production of the University of Florida’s Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ Program, IFAS Extension, and WUFT-FM in cooperation with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.
