If you have a home irrigation system that waters your trees, shrubs, container plants, or landscape beds, consider switching to drip irrigation as a great way to save water and money.

Unlike a sprinkler that sprays water over the entire plant bed, drip irrigation uses a network of plastic pipes and special emitters to target the roots of each plant, slowly applying the water where it’s needed.

Drip irrigation systems are easy to find and install. For easy access just place the lines on the soil surface and then hide them under a layer of mulch.

To save water and lower your water bill consider switching to drip irrigation today!

Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ in a Minute is a production of the University of Florida’s Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ Program, IFAS Extension, and WUFT-FM in cooperation with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.
