Peaches, pears, and plums can all be part of your home orchard. These and other deciduous fruits can be grown successfully in most of Florida.

Use University of Florida/IFAS recommendations to help you choose varieties that will work best for your area.

Before you buy, inspect trees for signs of insects, diseases, and other problems. Only bring home healthy trees, and plant them right away in a sunny location.

Container-grown fruit trees may be planted at any time of the year, but December and January are best. Select a site near your home to make harvesting easy.

Take care of your fruit trees and enjoy the fruits of your labor!

Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ in a Minute is a production of the University of Florida’s Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ Program, IFAS Extension, and WUFT-FM in cooperation with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.
